Make sure your Effluent hits the ground NOT THE FAN!

Most farmers treat their effluent as a waste bi-product that they would rather have nothing to do with, but are always spending too much of their time on.

NZ farmers have enough to worry about without spending time on a high maintenance system or a non-compliant effluent system.

By maximising the nutrients in your effluent and correctly applying them back to your pasture you will not only be able to get the best return from your effluent, but will never have to overspend on fertiliser again!

Since forming Effluent and Irrigation Design we have helped hundreds of farmers across NZ unleash their GREEN GOLD and now have franchises operating nationwide. In today’s economy why put up with high fertiliser prices and growing council legislation when the answer is right under your nose? Do it once and do it right. In these pages I have written down what I have learnt about effluent and the common mistakes many farmers are making everyday. I hope it gives you a good insight into how to use your effluent as a fertiliser and unleash hidden profits in your farm.

About Us

How a one man band started cleaning ponds and running his business from home progressed to having a team of pumping coordinators, consultants, project managers, service crew, and an installation team providing  NOT ONLY SERVICING BUT EXCITING NEW DESIGNS REVOLUTIONISING THE NZ EFFLUENT & IRRIGATION INDUSTRY.

Forming E & I Services in 1998, Marty Forster started his contract business cleaning ponds with just one pump unit. Before long, just a year later in fact Marty had 3 pump units and 12 staff who begun to also install effluent systems in the Waikato region.

In 2002 out of E & I Services, a need for more efficient effluent systems was established and E & I Design was formed. Offering consulting, and independent advice proved popular with more and more farmers wanting to use Marty’s services. Three years later E & I moved to office premises with a new admin team member, a pumping manager who doubled as the electrician, and a pumping coordinator.

In 2006 Antony Hill jumped aboard the effluent ship.   Along with Antony came a personal assistant for the boys as things were getting busier by the day and someone was needed to keep them in line. With the business growing the team moved to new premises at the end of 2007.

By 2008 E & I Design had a team of 14 in tow; three admin staff, three consultants, a project manager, two service crew, and an installation team of five. E & I Services also has a pumping coordinator and three contracted pumping units.

Effluent & Irrigation provide a service that ANALYSES YOUR CURRENT SYSTEM AND SPECIFIC FARM NEEDS.

The team at Effluent & Irrigation understand the concerns relating to how much work managing an effluent system can be. With many years of experience, technical training, contact with farmers and knowledge about Permitted Activity Rules and consent requirements our consultants have a wealth of knowledge to call upon.

E & I consultancy service involves looking at all aspects of your farm including topography, nutrient budgeting and effluent block layout to recommend the best solution for you.

Because E & I are independent consultants we have the ability to provide different system designs. We work with manufacturers of all effluent disposal solutions available in the New Zealand market. Often multiple outcomes are reached allowing farmers to make choices that best suit their situation and they are most comfortable with. This process allows farmers to become an educated buyer rather than being sold a company specific product.

So how do you get started?

Phone E & I to make a consultancy appointment and we will come out for a no obligation visit to discuss your particular farm needs. The process is very simple involving a series of questions about your farming operation, current system and farm expansion or intensification opportunities. These are all steps to ensure we have the relevant information to provide tailored recommendations which suit your farming, labour and business needs.
Our consultants will make sure the right effluent solution for your farm is reached every time, ensuring council compliance is achieved while saving you valuable time and money.
