Do you spend a lot of your valuable time working on your effluent?

Let the effluent work for you!

Effluent disposal is an important part of the farming operation; however it doesn’t need to be a task that deprives farm owners and staff of valuable time. Effluent disposal systems can range from treatment ponds to land based treatment systems where the effluent is pumped from sumps or holding ponds.

Generally pumping from a large storage facility is the preferred option by regional councils but no matter the situation, there is a need to get it right and minimise your concerns about effluent disposal. Farmers throughout
New Zealand have concerns with effluent disposal and are looking for ways to get it right.

If you are a farmer with these 3 concerns YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

1. Excessively high labour input!

Your effluent operation requires too many hours of labour input per week taking away from other important farm jobs, especially during busy times
like calving.

2. Environmental contamination.
Contamination leads to the risk of non-compliance with Regional Council Regulations.
3. Animal health
Issues associated with high levels of Potassium through inappropriate effluent applications.

DOES YOUR EFFLUENT SYSTEM COMPLY?

Click here to watch our video and find out!

Make sure your Effluent hits the ground not the fan!

Most farmers treat their effluent as a waste bi-product that they would rather have nothing to do with, but are always spending too much of their time on. NZ farmers have enough to worry about without spending time on a high maintenance system or a non-compliant effluent system.
By maximising the nutrients in your effluent and correctly applying them back to your pasture you will not only be able to get the best return from your effluent, but will never have to overspend on fertiliser again!

Since forming Effluent and Irrigation Design we have helped hundreds of farmers across NZ unleash their GREEN GOLD and now have franchises operating nationwide. In today’s economy why put up with high fertiliser prices and growing council legislation when the answer is right under your nose? Do it once and do it right. In these pages I have written down what I have learnt about effluent and the common mistakes many farmers are making everyday.

I hope it gives you a good insight into how to use your effluent as a fertiliser and unleash hidden profits in your farm.

ARE YOU COMPLYING with Regional Council Regulations?

How accurate is your interpretation of the permitted activity rules?

The “Resource Management Act” has been followed since 1991, but Regional Councils have only recently become stricter about it. The government is also aware of irregular farm effluent disposal issues and even environmental groups have been putting pressure on farmers to make sure they comply with the “permitted activity and consent rules.” Read more
